CURRENT PROJECTS

THE TEN YEAR MASTER PLAN

Exciting Plans for the Future of Capel Regional Equestrian Park

The clubs that call Capel Regional Equestrian Park (CREP) home are currently working closely with the Shire of Capel and Mike Rowland from Eventful Answers Australia to develop a comprehensive 10-Year Master Plan for the facility.

This important planning process will help shape the future direction of the park, ensuring that CREP continues to meet the needs of riders, volunteers, spectators, and the wider community for years to come. The Master Plan will identify opportunities for growth, infrastructure improvements, enhanced event capabilities, and the continued development of equestrian facilities across the site.

Representatives from the resident clubs have been actively contributing ideas and priorities, ensuring that the plan reflects the diverse needs of the equestrian disciplines that operate from the park. The collaboration between the clubs, the Shire of Capel, and Eventful Answers Australia demonstrates a shared commitment to creating a sustainable and thriving equestrian hub for the South West region.

While the planning process is still underway, there is great excitement about the opportunities that lie ahead. The Master Plan will provide a clear roadmap for future development and investment, helping to secure the long-term success of Capel Regional Equestrian Park as a premier equestrian venue.

We look forward to sharing updates as the project progresses and to unveiling a vision that promises significant growth and development for our equestrian community.

ALL WEATHER BLINDS

We recently completed the installation of all-weather blinds at our clubrooms, providing a protected and versatile space for use during events and activities. This upgrade allows us to better manage varying weather conditions, ensuring comfort for riders, volunteers, and spectators while enhancing our ability to host events year-round.

We would like to sincerely thank the Shire of Capel, Capel Community Bank, Monadelphous, Capel Horse and Pony Club,  and Bunbury Backyard Blinds for their generous support in making this project possible. Their contributions have significantly improved the functionality and usability of our facilities for the benefit of our entire community.

FENCING AROUND CLUB ROOMS

Our current project focuses on the installation of fencing around the new clubrooms at the Capel Regional Equestrian Park, with safety as the primary driver. With horses regularly moving through the grounds during events and training, it is essential to clearly define and separate pedestrian areas from horse activity zones. The fencing will create a secure boundary around the clubrooms, reducing the risk of accidents for riders, spectators, volunteers, and especially young children. This improvement will provide a safer, more controlled environment, allowing everyone to enjoy the facilities with greater confidence and peace of mind.

We sincerely thank Southern Ports for their generous contribution of $5,000 towards this project. Their support has enabled the installation of fencing along the back of the clubrooms, playing a key role in enhancing the safety and functionality of the space. This investment demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting community infrastructure and helps ensure our facility continues to provide a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
